Finale Proficiency Requirements
For our Finale project, you need to show proficiency with the following tasks:
Simple note entry
triplets, whole notes through 16th notes
dotted rhythms and rests
articulations (slurs, staccato, accents, etc.)
Add instruments from setup wizard
Work with different transpositions
Add tempo markings, key signature changes, clef changes,
time signature changes, repeats, double and final bars.
Adding text - titles, composer, etc.
Adding expressions and dynamics (crescendos, mf, etc.)
Adding lyrics
Export and format parts
Add music in different layers on a staff (chorale style)
Export music as a graphic into Microsoft Word
Export selection from music as a graphic and post on blog

Assignment 2: Blog Composition Posting and Commenting
Due by the end of class on Thursday, September 21:
After posting your composition to your blog along with the supporting information described above, please visit EACH of your classmates' blogs, listen to their compositions, and add a short comment responding to their composition. Each classmate's composition post should be listened to and commented on by every class member. You can navigate to your peers' blogs by
using the links on the right side of this page. The composition posting and comments are due by class time on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

- Export your GarageBand composition to iTunes
- Convert it to mp3 format
- Upload your composition to Odeo (http://studio.odeo.com)
- Copy Odeo flash code and post on your class blog.
- How did you create your composition? What was your process?

- What else would you like to know how to do in GarageBand?
